Hour of Code

The Hour of Code is a global movement to introduce youth to computer science and coding through various one-hour workshops. Initiated by Computer Science Education Week and Code.org, Hour of Code has reached millions of students by making computer programming accessible.

At these free, family-friendly workshops, we welcome all individuals, ages 6 to 106, to be a student and receive an introductory experience with coding and computer science in a safe, supportive environment. Students chose themes of Minecraft, Star Wars or Frozen for their hands-on project. Snacks and a completion certificate for each student will be provided!

Computer Science Classes

Why just play on computers when you can use them to create projects or solve problems? At YouthCode, students age nine or above have fun learning basic computer science principles and skills while programming computers with the block-based programming language, Scratch*. Each instructor-led class consists of unplugged activities to teach computer science basics as well as eight hands-on activities from Google CS First** where students create projects based on themes like art, music & sound, storytelling and game design. Class registration starts at $50 per student and sibling discounts apply.

Coding and Robotics Camps

At YouthCode coding and robotics camps, students age nine or above learn basic computer science concepts while programming computers with Scratch. All instructor-led camps use the block-based programming language Scratch plus the robotics camp uses the Finch robot, designed specifically for education. Each camp includes instruction and hands-on project time for students to apply their new knowledge and skills. Don't worry, parents, there will be plenty of unplugged activities to keep the students active. Registration is $75 per student per camp and sibling discounts apply. Registration includes snacks and camp souvenirs.
