The Eastview Food Pantry is a partnership between Eastview and DMARC. Food pantry services are available to everyone, regardless of income. Identification is preferred but not required. Individuals without identification may still receive food, although the amount available may be limited.
Accepted forms of identification include:
Adults: Driver’s license, passport, or state-issued ID.
Children: Medical card or school ID.
The hours for the pantry are Tuesday and Wednesday 2 pm - 5 pm, Thursday 10 AM - Noon, and Friday 10 am - 2 pm. Holiday hours may vary.
How Our Food Pantry Works
Eastview Food Pantry is a drive-up pantry. There is no need to leave your vehicle. Please enter through the south entrance near Evangel Church and drive around to the Porter’s Hardware side of the building. When you arrive, please remain in your vehicle and honk your horn to let us know you are here. A member of our team will assist you.
Monthly and Weekly Food Assistance
Through DMARC, we offer a monthly food pantry visit that includes basic food staples and personal care items. During your monthly visit, you will receive a list of available food choices to complete. We want you to have a say in the food you receive and to choose items that best meet your needs.
We also offer weekly food assistance to help meet the ongoing needs of individuals and families. Weekly visits include a pre-packed bag of food that may contain bread, fresh produce, bakery items, and other specially donated foods. Individuals and families may receive these weekly items once per week.
All food items are subject to donations and availability. We recognize that the need for food assistance is great, and we are committed to helping our community as much as possible.
Severe Weather Closures
Eastview Food Pantry follows the Des Moines Public Schools severe weather schedule and closes when the schools close.
Because our team delivers food directly to vehicles, we may also need to close during severe weather, heavy snowfall, or extremely cold temperatures.
